3 Indian-origin young scientists recognised in UK

Three Indian-origin researchers, Rahul R Nair, Mehul Malik, and Tanmay Bharat, are among the recipients of the Blavatnik Awards For Young Scientists in the UK. The awards recognize research in Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Life Sciences. Nair developed novel membranes based on 2D materials, Malik advanced quantum communications, and Bharat created atomic-level pictures of cell-surface molecules.

Singapore's Indian origin min pleads not guilty to corruption charges

Indian origin transport minister of Singapore, S Iswaran, pleaded not guilty of 27 charges labelled against him on Thursday. With political career spanning 26 years, Iswaran was facing two corruption charges under Prevention of Corruption Act one of obstructing justice and 24 of receiving gratification as a public servant under Penal Code.
