Australian man charged with several offences over fatal crash that killed 5 Indian-origin persons

A 66-year-old Australian man, William Swale, was charged with multiple offenses on Monday for a fatal crash that killed five members of two Indian-origin families at the Royal Daylesford Hotel. Swale, who has type one diabetes, scanned his blood glucose monitoring device before the crash, which showed dangerously low levels. He ignored multiple mobile phone alerts warning him about his glucose levels. Swale was captured on CCTV entering a wine bar before the crash and was seen driving his vehicle when he lost control and crashed into the diners.
