Indian student beaten, forced into labour for months in US; three charged

US authorities have rescued a 20-year-old Indian student in Missouri who was held captive and subjected to inhumane treatment by his cousin and two other men. The victim, whose name was not disclosed, was locked in a basement, forced to sleep on an unfinished floor, and denied access to a bathroom. He was also beaten with various objects and suffered multiple injuries. The three defendants have been charged with offenses including human trafficking, kidnapping, and assault.
