Indian-origin professor Joyeeta Gupta receives prestigious Dutch Prize for climate change work

Dr. Joyeeta Gupta, an Indian-origin professor, has been awarded the prestigious Dutch Prize for her work in the field of climate change. She is a professor of environment and development in the global south and received the prize from the Dutch Research Council. The award, known as the 'Dutch Nobel', comes with a prize of 1.5 million euros for scientific research and related activities.
