Indian-American Arjun Gupta appointed chair of US federal body

The US Small Business Administration (SBA), which represents America’s 33 million small businesses in the administration of President Joe Biden, announced the appointment of 14 members to the newly established federal Investment Capital Advisory Committee (ICAC) last week. The ICAC consists of members with diverse perspectives, experiences, and occupational backgrounds in and related to the US private investment industry and is headed by Indian American Arjun Gupta as chairman.

Indian origin transport minister of Singapore, S Iswaran, pleaded not guilty of 27 charges labelled against him on Thursday. With political career spanning 26 years, Iswaran was facing two corruption charges under Prevention of Corruption Act one of obstructing justice and 24 of receiving gratification as a public servant under Penal Code.
