Sebi looking to boost participation of NRI, OCI investments in Indian securities mkt through FPI route

On Friday, Sebi advocated expanding NRI and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) involvement in the Indian stocks market via the Foreign Portfolio Investor (FPI) route while putting in place the necessary safeguards to reduce the risks associated with such investments. According to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi)'s consultation paper, the proposed action aims to increase foreign institutional investors' (FPIs') investment in India.
